DENIZ ATAMAN: Although this is my second time working on the WPC, it’s my first time as conference director. I’m thrilled that we’re taking the event to Nice and to the heart of perfumery. What I love about the WPC is the people. I’m lucky to work with a team of advisors who know the ins and outs of the industry and who can help me find the pulse of what our audience needs to know to move forward in their careers. I never thought I’d meet the noses of some of the most iconic fragrances—and here they are, teaching master perfumer courses! I think about the students attending these courses and feel their excitement—some have reached out to me to say, “I never thought I’d get a chance to learn from the perfumer who inspired me to become a perfumer!” The skill and artistry behind perfumery is passed down from generation to generation, and that bond between teacher and student is strong.
