I F R ANA T E AM NE WS Meet Your New Director of Communications Lia K. Dangelico “I’m passionate about using my voice and creativity to tell stories in a way that engages and delights audiences of all backgrounds. It’s time that we reclaim the truth, beauty, and power of fragrance— it’s time to tell our story.” L ia K. Dangelico joined IFRANA in early January as Director of Communications. She will lead a comprehensive branding and communications program that both demonstrates the power of fragrance to enhance lives and further emphasizes the organization as the trusted voice of the industry. She also will serve as Chair of IFRANA’s Branding & Communications Executive Committee. After earning Bachelors’ Degrees in English and Creative Writing from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, Lia immediately hit the ground running in communications, working as an Editorial Assistant for a national membership organization. Since then, she has gained valuable experience in content development and strategy, corporate branding and messaging, and marketing and social media for a wide range of industries and sectors, including nonprofit, defense, healthcare, and technology. Most recently, she oversaw marketing and communications as well as corporate culture for a leading Northern Virginia pet care company. An established professional writer and editor, her first edited book is set to be published internationally later this year. Lia lives with her husband and their trio of naughty dogs—they’re lucky they’re so cute!—in Northern Virginia. When she’s not working, she enjoys exploring the DC food and music scenes, trying to perfect yoga poses, and reading all the books she can get her hands on—her goal for 2018 is to read 50! 48 FRAGRANCE NOTES ISSUE 1, 2018
