A KEEN SENSE
FOR QUALITY
CAMBIARE speaks to VITAL NEWS about the rigorous
testing procedures that their ABS sensors go through to
ensure that they stand up to quality and safety standards.
With one of the most comprehensive ranges of ABS sensors in the aftermarket, Cambiare boasts a range of
over 700 parts which consist of both passive and active technology. As well as being able to uphold quality
and safety standards, Cambiare provides customers and end users the right part for the job every time.
THERMAL CYCLE TESTS
Thermal cycle tests expose Cambiare ABS
sensors to alternating high and low
temperatures in order to accelerate the
conditions in which failures can occur as a
result of the temperature variances the ABS
sensor endures during everyday use. During
this test the sensor is subjected to temperature
fluctuations in which it is cooled to -40°C
and then heated to 140°C at a rate of 3°C per
minute. The sensor is exposed to this cycle
multiple times to confirm its durability.
VIBRATION TESTS
Vehicles experience a large amount of
vibration throughout their lifecycles,
which requires its internal components
to withstand the constant trembling and
juddering created by the engine and road
conditions. As such, Cambiare ABS sensors
go through rigorous vibration tests at various
frequency rates. These tests are conducted
at various angles for 10 hours around each
axis point to improve longevity.
THERMAL SHOCK TESTS
Like the thermal cycle test, the thermal
shock tests create an environment that raises
and reduces the temperature of the sensor
to extreme variants. However, the thermal
shock test rapidly increases and decreases
the temperature from -40°C to 140°C within 3
minutes. The process is repeated 60 times to
guarantee Cambiare sensors can withstand
sudden changes in temperature.
SALT / FOG TESTS
HIGH / LOW TEMPERATURE TESTS
Sensors are tested at extreme temperature variants
to ensure the signal output is not compromised.
The sensors are tested at temperatures of -40°C up
to 150°C for prolonged periods of time with signal
measurements being captured. They are then left to
cool to an ambient room temperature to ensure that
no further loss of signal is experienced.
Cambiare ABS sensors also undergo a salt
spray (or salt fog) test in order to simulate
road conditions and test the corrosion
resistance of the materials we use. In order to
perform this test, ABS sensors are exposed to
a saline fog or spray that is evenly distributed
across the sensors. They are then analysed to
ensure they meet the quality and endurance
levels our customers have come to expect.
Cambiare prides itself on the quality of product supplied to our customers and takes the necessary
steps with all ranges to provide OE quality and BER complaint parts that can be trusted.
To assist customers and installers, Cambiare has a technical hotline (0845 543 8280) to address
anything from cataloguing issues to fitment difficulties. Cambiare ABS sensors are catalogued
on the Cambiare website (www.cambiare-ve.com), the F:Drive and MAM Autocat. For more
information, speak to your local Cambiare or FPS representative.
