VN 54 | APRIL – JUNE 2019 3
ROAD MAP OF
FPS DEVELOPMENT
Things are constantly upgrading at FPS in order to improve customer
experience. We look at what’s new in 2019 so far…
A ACCOUNT CONSOLIDATION
C CARLISLE
In an effort to streamline the way
customers order with FPS, an account
consolidation initiative has been rolled out
over the past 8 months. FPS customers
now order through one account, regardless of
whether you order in bulk or singular items. As you
only need to select whether you intend to order from
Sheffield NDC or your Regional Distribution Centre,
this has simplified the order process. The roll out
will continue this year as more customers enter the
consolidated account system.
M
MATCHING PARTS
The FPS database has been overhauled to make the OE match function as
accurate as possible. It now makes the distinction between ‘part matched’,
products mapped to one result for an application, and ‘VRM matched’
which have been mapped to the VRM Make Model Index.
FPS is pleased to announce the launch of FPS Carlisle which is opening in
April, and introduce Stuart Terry, RDC Manager, as well as Nick Nelson,
Assistant RDC Manager. Stuart joins FPS from Border Cars where he held
the position of Aftersales Manager and was responsible for the running
of 2 sites housing 5 different franchises. With his vast experience in the OE and
aftermarket, Stuart is sure to fit straight into his new role within FPS. Nick comes
from TMS where he was warehouse supervisor for 6 years and brings with him a
wealth of knowledge of the aftermarket parts industry.

eRETURNS
2018 was a busy year
for FPS trialling the
new eReturns interface,
which is designed
to streamline operations
through quicker turnaround
and consequent credits. Other
benefits of this new system
include standardised paperwork
to minimise confusion and
miscommunication, visibility of
return history via the F:Drive,
and upfront return acceptance
notifications. The interface will
be rolled out to all RDCs over the
course of the year.
Nick Nelson
The F:Drive now displays supersession
information for ‘dead’ products. To make
identifying them as simple as possible, the
superseded product information shows
at the top of the results, with alternative
products linked below.
FPS is always looking of ways
to improve our customer
experience. If you have any
suggestions or feedback, don’t
hesitate to get in touch at:
[email protected].
Back in February, FPS reduced the cost of
VRM credits to 5p each to make it easier
for you to find and purchase the right part
first time.
