BOSCH BRAKING –
YOU CAN COUNT ON IT
It could be argued that there is no component more safety critical than
the braking system. That’s why Bosch pride themselves on their quality.
Bosch has developed a reputation for quality
and reliability, two qualities essential
to braking components. They thrive on
innovation and have long considered
themselves at the forefront of technological
advancements. Bosch shares why they believe
they’re the best, and safest, choice for brakes
in the aftermarket.
THOROUGHLY TESTING THE LIMITS
Bosch has its own research, development, and
production facilities to ensure their stringent
quality standards are met from the start. Their
brake products undergo a series of extensive
tests, going beyond what is required by law.
They also always meet, and often exceed,
environmental based legal requirements.
Bosch tests are far more rigorous than those required
by law

HALTING SUBSTANDARD MATERIALS
When brakes are applied, they have to
exude up to 10 times more stopping force
than the engine is producing, resulting in
temperatures of up to 650°C. With such
extreme conditions, the quality of brakes are
non-negotiable. Bosch brake pads meet the
same high standards as OEM products and
are manufactured with premium materials.
Bosch casts are enriched with alloy
components such as molybdenum, chrome, or
titanium. These enhance the properties of the
material to provide high thermal diffusivity,
low thermoelectric voltage, high resistance
to thermal tears, and optimal dampening
properties.
1: Design
Their high-carbon discs are made from a
highly carbonized grey cast iron which diverts
heat without thermal tears or distortions. This
prevents the brakes from vibrating, improves
delay, and increases resistance and service life
of the brake discs.
2: Testing
QUANTITY AND QUALITY
Bosch not only produces brake pads which
cover almost all of the European market,
they produce vehicle specific solutions for
the optimum brake pads - offering ideally
coordinated friction, comfort and wear
properties. All of this is ensured through
extensive dynamometer and on-the-vehicle
testing.
3: Fitting
Brake discs are made to equally exacting
standards. From a high-quality surface finish
to reduce the bedding in period and noise,
to anti-corrosion plating on many discs to
improve the appearance of alloy wheels,
Bosch offers every advantage. Casting and
manufacturing tolerances are to the vehicle
manufacturer standard, and all vented discs
are balanced at factory to ensure they run
correctly on the vehicle.
BRAKING THE INDUSTRY
4: Real-world testing
Taking full advantage of their R&D capacity,
Bosch manufacture OE quality products using
cutting-edge machines and test procedures
including spectral analysis, metallurgical
examinations, and dynamometer test
benches.
They produce discs with integrated bearings
and ABS sensor ring, which save time with
perfect results. In addition, screw sets
accompany many brake discs, ensuring a fast
and safe repair.
