FAHREN STEER THE WAY TY I L A QU SS E L R FO THE FAHREN RANGE ALSO INCLUDES: FAHREN sheds some light on the importance of stabiliser links as they introduce the most recent additions to their steering and suspension range. Stabiliser links (also known as link rods or drop links) are an essential part of the suspension system as they connect the anti-roll bar to the suspension which improves road holding and handling. The prevalence of potholes and bumpy roads means the entire suspension needs to be able to withstand a great deal of stress, so stabiliser links are usually constructed from plastic, steel and alloy. ONLY AS STRONG AS THE WEAKEST LINK Over time, fatigue will take effect a nd the stabiliser links will weaken. Symptoms of worn stabiliser links include: • Wobble, skip and “dead zones” in steering • Creaking or screeching noises • Rattling or metal-on-metal scratching noises, especially when driven over speed bumps or potholes QUALITY TO EXPECT Fahren’s steering and suspension range is subjected to stringent safety checks during assembly to assess their tension and compression hardness, weld penetration, porosity and paint/cataphoresis coating penetration. Safety is critical when it comes to brake and steering components, so Fahren ensures that their whole range meets OE specifications and offers a 12,000-mile/12-month warranty. WATER PUMPS WHEEL BEARING KITS WHAT’S NEW FOR FAHREN Fahren have introduced over 20 new steering and suspension references in 2018, taking its active steering and suspension range to over 570+ references. Recent highlights include: • FAS6187: Tie rod L/R for Renault Scenic 1.5 (2011-2017) • FAS6171: Tie rod L/R for Audi A1 1.6 (2014>) • FAS2201: Suspension arm LH for Ford Ka 1.3 (2010-2014) As the stabiliser links affect road holding, drivers should be wary of poor handling or unusual noises. These signs should not be overlooked as broken stabiliser links could lead to a loss of control. Competitively priced, quality parts that cover popular applications, Fahren’s extensive range includes braking, steering and suspension, wheel bearing kits, water pumps and ignition coils. The more stress placed upon the bar and links, the more often they’ll need replacing. It’s strongly recommended that stabiliser links are always replaced in pairs to ensure they wear at the same rate.
