FIRST LINE speaks to VITAL NEWS about technological evolution
of wheel bearings
As we approach the final quarter of 2017,
many of us find that we have no time
for retrospection as planning for 2018 is
underway.
Whilst industry players are looking at
ways to maintain growth and stability in
the business for 2018, futureproofing the
aftermarket for the long run remains as
top priority. With plans to ban the sale
of diesel and petrol vehicles by 2040, to
vehicle manufacturers surging towards
their plans for 100% connected vehicles
by 2025, industry players within the
UK independent aftermarket have to
continually innovate ways to safeguard
the security of this sector.
Chargemaster UK has projected that
UK roads will see more than 1,000,000
electric cars by 2022. The shift of interest
in how we power our vehicles has
seen a number of grand debates about
environmental sustainability and impact
on carbon footprint. Whilst electric
vehicles still have a lot of catching up
to do, the infancy of the technology still
presents huge potential for growth. Until
then, motorists have the power of choice
in what cars they choose and how they
maintain them.

their vehicles, as they see fit. This is
why, campaigns like Right2Choose
are important in ensuring that the
aftermarket continues to thrive. It is
more than the £13.5 billion industry that
provides more than 250,000 jobs in the
UK, it is about allowing UK motorists to
upkeep their vehicles – on their terms.
This issue’s cover story is from Nissens
as Vital News explores the fundamentals
of quality heaters and ensuring best
installation practices to keep UK
motorists safe and comfortable over the
colder months. Read more about this
on page 4. We also explore the latest
