Community Problem Solving I have really enjoyed working on this CARS project. I hope that we have helped our Year 12s to stay safe and be alcohol responsible. Alexandra Hanson National Finalist CARS team project 2005, Class of 2010 I really got excited when people replied to our letters, especially members of parliament. It was great to see that people do take notice and are interested in what a small group of school-aged girls are trying to promote. Hannah Innes Na onal Finalist Reach Out project 2006      Class of 2008 from Preliminary Report  CMPS showed me that real changes could be made in the community by taking appropriate actions; I have put this into practice this year by organizing a forum on Youth, Alcoholism and Risk Taking to address the problem of the binge drinking culture. Mys que Nelis,  IC LINC team project 2009, Class of  2011  We have learnt many things over the course of our project: how to talk to strangers, how to run meetings, how to keep going when people tell you that you are wasting your time and how it takes time to make the connections we need, to make things happen. CmPS IC LINC Team, IC 2009, Class of 2011 from Preliminary I Loved getting involved in CmPS, and creating our own project from scratch made it a lot more fun than just getting work. This meant that we developed independence, which became evident during our two tripsto Melbourne and America-where it was clear that we were running our project.
