n a quest to learn more about our
Fox Mustangs, we’re reprinting
some insider lit from Ford — things
intended for the dealer, not the public.
So for our introductory issue, we’re
revisiting another introduction, the
return of the Mustang GT in 1982.
Shown below is page 4 from the
Mustang section of the 1982 Ford Car
Facts dealer album with a detailed
account of the GT’s content.
The color page is page 1 of the
Mustang section of the much more
obscure 1982 Ford Fleet Buyers
Guide. Notice the GT picture is labeled
SS, not GT. The book’s Feb. 8, 1981,
intro letter carried this disclaimer:
“Due to the advanced timing of the
material herein, it is highly confidential
and subject to change prior to model
introduction.”
