Frank bid large, but in the end he
was outbid by eBay’s notorious
snipers. However, after a couple of
days, he received a call from the
seller.
“The buyer couldn’t complete
the deal, so the seller offered it to
me,” Frank says. “He asked if I
was still interested, and I told him
I was. He told me to make him an
offer. I offered him $1,000 more
than my bid. He asked, ‘How soon
can you get it to me?’”
Frank wound up with a legit,
high-end, racer spin-off that
turned out to be quite a rarity.

The best info on these is that 100
were planned but only six were
completed.
“It was originally sold out of
Jacky Jones Ford in Cleveland,
Georgia, and is car number 1,”
Frank says. “To the best of my
knowledge, there were two LX
coupes, two hatchbacks, and two
convertibles.”
One was reported crashed at
Road Atlanta, leaving four others
in existence besides this one. So
don’t feel bad if you’ve never seen
one — there aren’t many to see.
Frank tells us that there were
two basic color schemes — white
or red. Red cars got a white stripe
with blue stripe.

Only three options were
chromed wheels, and leather
covered FloFit seats. Horsepower
