Mastercraft Boards & BBQs

Mangakino was again host to
the Mastercraft Boards and BBQ
Groms Wakeboarding Competition.
This competition was held for the
first time last year with the intention to grow the sport within the
younger generation. It was such
a great success with a full field of
riders the organisers were encouraged to go for it again. Saturday
19th March saw one of the first big
misty mornings Mango produces at
this time of year, but as the dawn
broke the families arrived and the
buzz began. The Crew at Mastercraft set the scene with the volley
ball net, and there was no doubt
the day was about kids, family and
Wakeboarding. Whilst wakeboarding competitions are usually run
with riders running in divisions
determined by age groups, the
Mastercraft Boards and BBQ
Groms comp is ridden in divisions
determined by skill level. Ralph
from Wake NZ had the idea that
if like level riders got the chance
to compete together they would all
push each other forward. There are
4 divisions....
