Mr Colling - Bending S’s The Open Mens final provided all the high class cable wakeboarding action the ‘wet’ spectators had come to expect, but also some big shocks. The tipped to win cable veteran ‘Josho’ went down on kicker tricks nobody expected to see him come off on. But it’s the ride on the day that counts, and the riding on the day put Jamie Barrow at the top of the leaderboard, just above Ants who pulled some huge S-Bends out the bag. The afternoon finished off in high spirits with the sun making an appearence for at least 10 minutes. The riders took it upon themselves to push the boundaries on the kicker in a good old fashion kicker jam. I decided to take this opportunity to get out from behind the judge’s table and managed to stick a Whirly5 off the kiteboarder’s kicker. The day worked out pretty ideal, except for the weather, but everybody pulled on through, and with the help of copious amounts of Monster we saw the best of New Zealand’s cable riding. Jamie Barrows
