MDW: I was going through a rough time in my life that compelled me to join. I had just gone through a failed marriage at the age of 19, and was alone in New Mexico with no family near. I was barely making ends meet as a waitress and I wanted so bad to turn my life around and further my education without additional financial stress. I had a feeling I was destined to do more and be more with the adamant desire to be a contributing member of society. I wanted to look back at my life and say “I did my part to serve our country”. I knew that joining would be my way of giving back and being a part of something larger than myself, all while allowing me to get on my feet. That’s when I decided to go for it and enlist in the military. And I must say, it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve made for myself. Being - 24 - Hailing from Albuquerque, New Mexico this 28 year old currently serves in the Army National Guard as a Sergeant and will drop down and give you 100 in a heart beat. She even once beat an infantryman at a pushup contest 124 to 101…in a dress! Who’s next? We don’t think there is any question as to why we chose Melody as our cover girl.
