AROUND THE SCHOOL
Symphonies on
Swan
A great night of music under the stars
We promised a great night of music,
and the School of Music delivered! The
inaugural Symphonies on Swan event was
held on the lawn area near the Boat Shed,
on the evening of Thursday 6 April in front
of a large crowd of friends and families.
The evening was a true demonstration of
the School’s value of teamwork, with staff
and students from the School of Music
working with staff from the Community
Relations, Events and Catering and
Maintenance teams to make it a night to
remember.
As the delicious aromas of our international
food stalls wafted over the crowds, Kirste
Oates, MC for the evening, took to the
stage and to get the night underway.
Mr Barry McGuire and the Boodjar Bidi
Dancers started the night with a Welcome
to Country, followed by performances by G
Jazz, G Funk, and the Guildford Grammar
Symphony Orchestra, accompanied
by local identity Courtney Murphy.
Thank you to everyone involved in
making the night the success that
it was. The music was sensational,
the food was delicious and the
night was superbly organised.
Thank you also to the many
families who joined us on what will
hopefully become an annual event.
