A Note From the Editor:
Ready to Roll!
Dear Friends,
It's been a year and a half since we suspended Forward Magazine. In that year, God has allowed me to help churches do more with online ministry strategies, co-write a book with Claudine Broussard, and help other authors get their feet wet in publishing their own books. I'm thankful to God for these opportunities.
As we move into another season of publishing this magazine, let me encourage you to seek out opportunities to lift up and enable the creatives in your church. Writers, photographers, musicians, online ministry workers. These are the people that God uses to help give color and life to the message that you are trying to communicate within your church and to your community - the message of Jesus.
Two examples from the past few years stand in stark contrast in my mind. In one instance, I heard of a church leader that told a young person, "I've read some of your writing. - I wasn't that impressed."
Another leader called across the continent to encourage and offer financial assistance to a musician who was struggling to produce their first gospel CD.
Which of these leaders was more like Jesus?
God has put creatives in our churches, and they are the storytellers of the Gospel message. Help them. Support them. Encourage them. Pray for them.
