COMMUNITY

From your P & F

In this edition of the Forward Magazine , I have the opportunity to thank all who have served the School and the community for the year across the P & F Society . This article will reflect the same sentiments , but as I am now stepping down as President it is with some sadness that I acknowledge each individual as they have become friends and I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know them within this forum .
• Secretary , Peta Barnes
• Treasurer , Rene Farmer
• President Friends of Preparatory School , Sheri-Lee Knoop-Bender
• President Friends of Senior School , Nada Edwards
• School Council Representative , Brian Adams
• Senior School Representatives , Craig Madden , Matthew Johnsen

One thing that always strikes me when being part of a volunteer group is the commitment and passion of individuals . The above people are always the first to put up their hands to help and this year they have done so across both community and school events .
One event in particular which has a long history with the P & F is the Art Exhibition . Once again the Arts Representative , Kirsty Bates has worked tirelessly to support the School , as well as initiating Indigenous art workshops which provided students with the opportunity to learn Indigenous art and paint
skateboards . FOSS and FOPS also provided their members , supporting the School across the opening night and weekend events . Whether you attended the champagne opening , the high tea or visited the School across the weekend to see the exhibition , the P & F is there to strongly support the School and the community .
The Arts have always been strongly supported by the P & F Society with funds being committed across all areas of the School including music , film , theatre and fine art activities . Over the years our arts representatives have delivered movie nights , music experiences and assisted the School with drama production preparations . Make sure you keep updated with the arts opportunities available as they are communicated across the Bulletin next year .
Finally , as School winds down for the year , I would like to wish you and your family a very safe , healthy and happy Christmas and New Year , as well as enjoying your family time before another School year begins .
Danielle Norrish P & F President are able to experience something new and different . The annual Sculpture by the Sea event at Cottesloe Beach allows our boys to appreciate different art forms in an informal and relaxed environment with others from their boarding year groups .
All of these experiences and opportunities give our boys the very best of a wellrounded education and the possibility to open doors to new ventures in their future .
