Near Southside auto center,
wine bar TO OPEN
WEEK INREVIEW
News briefs from the previous week.
K
ent & Co. Wines, the first-of-its-kind
upscale wine bar and automotive dropoff service center, will pop open its
doors June 6 at 5 p.m.
Located at the corner of Magnolia
Avenue and South Adams Street in Fort Worth’s Near
Southside district, Kent & Co. Wines will celebrate its
grand opening with a free concert by Nashville artist
Matt Wertz beginning at 8 p.m.

The 8,000-square-foot space will showcase a rotating
collection of new and classic cars similar to an art
installation.
The $2.5 million project, designed by Jones Baker
Architects, is a nod to the iconic Frank Kent Motor
brand.
The space boasts a selection of more than 200
wines, private lockers available for rent to store customers’ purchases, lounge seating and snacks from
nearby eateries.
A service drop-off, as well as valet parking, will be
available Wednesday through Saturday. Vehicle dropoff service will star on July 1, by appointment only;
customers can schedule an appointment online at
www.frankkent.com.

Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl set
For the first time in its history, the Lockheed Martin
Armed Forces Bowl will be played in January after the
start of the new year.
The 12th edition of the postseason college football
bowl game will kick off on Jan. 2, 2015, at 11 a.m.
(CT) from Amon G. Carter Stadium on the campus of
Texas Christian University and will be aired by ESPN.
“A Friday kickoff is the perfect end to a holiday
week chocked full of college football and ending appropriately in Fort Worth,” said Brant Ringler, Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl executive director.
This year’s bowl game is slated to feature a team
from the American Athletic Conference versus the
U.S. Military Academy (Army), pending bowl eligibility. The annual game, played in honor of the armed
forces of the United States, is the only collegiate football bowl game that has hosted all three U.S. Military
Academy football teams.
The bowl game has featured the “armed forces”
theme since 2006. The Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl is one of 11 bowl games owned and operated
by ESPN Events, a subsidiary of ESPN.
