The Lee County School District
welcomed nearly 87,120 students for
the 2014/2015 academic year, and
many of its schools have won state
and national awards for excellence.
The public school system is
administered by an elected board
and an appointed superintendent.
Magnet schoo ls concentrate on such
areas as foreign languages, science,
and performing arts; the county also
provides a diverse gifted student
