ONE YEAR one year at Keele A UNIQUE PARTNERSHIP LED BY KEELE IS SET TO UNDERPIN 1,200 HIGH TECH JOBS TO THE REGION, IS ANNOUNCED KEELE OBSERVATORY OPENS ITS DOORS TO THE PUBLIC FOR BBC2’S STARGAZING LIVE 2014 EVENTS Stargazing LIVE returned for a fourth series on BBC Two, which set out to encourage everyone to make the most of the night sky. The Observatory offered views of the skies through telescopes, tours the observatory, and talks with astronomers. As well as asking some of the big questions, there were hints and tips for getting started in stargazing and advice on navigating your way around the skies. JAN 68 | Keele University The project won a grant of nearly £1 million from the AHRC to edit and publish ten volumes of the work and letters of the pioneering, modernist writer, Dorothy Richardson (1873-1957) with Oxford University Press. Based at Keele, the project is a five-year collaboration between Keele, and the universities of Oxford, London and Birmingham. In a ground breaking collaboration between Keele, Staffordshire County Council and Stoke-on-Trent City Council, the Cabinet Office has confirmed that it will pump £5m into a £27million project creating a UK’s first Smart Energy Network Demonstrator site.
