KEELE ON
WHEELS
The Keele Key Fund has
helped KeeleSU set up a
Bike Hire Scheme. A fleet of
four bikes can be hired for
a day, or up to seven days
at a time. The scheme was
launched at the end of the
2014 academic year. Bikes
were hired an amazing 34
times during the summer
holidays and a further 33
times in September. Once
the 2014/2015 academic
year started the number of
bike hire bookings exceeded
all expectations! The bikes
are used by students for
activities, trips, charity rides,
commuting to jobs and even
for short cycling holidays.
Keele-on-Wheels also offers
cycle training and affordable
cycle maintenance. We are
looking at new ways to
enhance the scheme and
offer greater benefits to
students by increasing the
number of bikes available
for hire and adding a second
storage unit. KeeleSU thanks
our alumni for funding this
amazing project.
