Why is this issue important? Where to start? The idea of licensed characters in comics was a relatively new concept when this issue came out. Conan #1 smashed its way onto the scene and for many
this issue begins the Bronze age of comics. A time for more adult themes and a resurgence of the sword
and sorcery genre begins with this all important issue. Great work by Smith and Thomas also make this
book a lasting key and a important milestone in funny books.
