Charles and Christy Knight hosted the best July 4th BBQ ever for the Thomas Road neighbors and friends! After socializing over burgers, beans and roasted corn, we traveled to the top of the road (Thomas/Hartgrove) for an unobstructed view of the city’s fireworks. Roger Cooke, emailed to advertise a yard sale to be held at the home of Joanne and Jerry Long....and Jerry didn’t even know they were having one until it was too late! Good stuff Joanne and Jerry! Sue Kirby Evans joined me in purchasing several things there at the neighbor’s garage sale as well. Sue has a home staging business and is always looking for the best bargain. James Boyles and Phoebe Moser became husband and wife June 29th. Both are elementary school teachers in Stokes County. What a beautiful wedding at Rose Lee Manor....Debra Brown directed the event, and Alton helped too! Way to go James....Phoebe is a keeper! Sal makes some mighty fine bruschetta at Little Italy Restaurant in King. Don’t overlook it. It’s on the appetizer list. Is Sal back in town? Don’t miss another event held at Central Park in King! The park is a happening place this Summer with the Arts Council events being directed by Justin Bulla. Justin is one of our own Stokes County products and a very talented young man! Summer is slowly leaving us, and Fall is on it’s way...
