Main St., King NC Fall Festivities: The Dixie Classic Fair The seasons are changing once again. The beauty of Autumn in North Carolina, is that it brings a cool crisp breeze, favorite football teams, candy apples, camp fires, tinted leaves, and of course, the Dixie Classic Fair. Winter, spring, summer, and fall each possess unique and magical qualities; things that lead us into nostalgic recollections and impending excitement. With Thanksgiving over the horizon, and a plethora of festivals, fairs, and fun in between, it’s no surprise that fall is one of our favorite times of the year! The Dixie Classic Fair is just one of the many exciting events to appreciate during this time. Let’s face it: entertaining activities that the whole family will enjoy are hard to come by these days. Yet, whether we are someone’s grandparent, a newlywed couple, or a grade-school kid, we all have fun at the fair. From exhilarating rides, to prize-winning games, to delicious local food vendors; the Dixie Classic Fair has something for everyone. This year, they will even be providing entertainment from chart-topping country music artists like Parmalee, Craig Cambell, and more. The Dixie Classic Fair was held at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds from th October 3rd-October 12. Don’t worry the Fair will be back next year. The Dixie Classic Fair celebrated the 132 nd year. beginning in the late 1800’s. This year was one you shouldn’t of missed! There were promotional events and additional entertainment throughout the 10 day festival. So, as the temperature drops and the leaves begin to change, don’t forget to mark your calendar with a trip to the Dixie Classic Fair in 2015.
