Fleet Town Fleet Town Girls & Ladies Fc Fleet Town Girls Football Club was formed in 2001, with a couple of teams. In 2003 the club attained Chartered Standard Status and was the first all- girls club to achieve chartered status in Hampshire. In the 2008/09 season the club was awarded Hampshire FA Charter Standard Club Fair Play Award Winners. In 2009, as our numbers had grown and we had teams at most age groups from U10’s to U18’s the next natural progression was to start the Ladies Team. The Ladies Team Formed was formed for the 2009/10 season and included some of the players who had started the Girls club in 2001. 2013/14 season saw the Club get another award, The Hampshire FA (Aldershot District) Charter Standard Club of the year. In 2014/5 the club received two more awards; Hampshire FA Fair Play Award Female Youth Winners and Hampshire FA Respect Award Winners. Fleet Town girls and Ladies now has over 150 members, with teams starting at U10’s through to the Ladies Team. The Club has now attained FA Charter Standard Development Status. The growth of the club would not have got to where it is today without all the hard work from countless volunteers over the years. The Fleet Town Colts Youth Football Club The Fleet Town Colts Youth football club was started in July 1992 and has since seen significant growth throughout the years in terms of the numbers of players participating each week at both training and in competitive matches. For the past few seasons the Club has had close to 300 children participating in football, with teams at age groups from U7 through to U18. In addition the Club works closely with the Fleet Town FC Youth teams for 16 to 18 year olds. In many of the younger age groups our numbers are such that it enables us to have as many as five teams within one age group. The increase in our numbers over the years reflects the success of Youth At Fleet with have a good Youth structure in place with nearly 500 boys and girls playing Youth football from Under 7’s through to Under 18’s. We also provide a club to help kids 5-7 years old to take their first steps in football. The aim is to create more players that come on to play for the senior team and also provide the supporters of the club in the future. We have a brand new team after a season without a youth team. In this first season back we have a young squad of all local players, the majority being 16 playing in an U18 competition. The Youth team have also done very well in this seasons FA Youth Cup reaching the 3rd Qualifying Round and are currently sitting 3rd in the Allied Counties Youth League. Also this season 3 Youth team players have already had 1st team action. www.footballfocusmag.com 43
