FC Clacton
“We’ve just started to sponsor the club after a
friend of mine who plays asked us to sponsor
him. It is good to see the club doing well at
present and I’d like to take this opportunity to
wish them all the best for the season ahead.”

Community
“We are most definitely a
Community Club. We are
registered at Companies
House as a not for profit
Community Club and
run Community events
throughout the year.
Plans have been
submitted to Tendring
District Council for
a new stadium, just a
couple of hundred yards

site. As I write we are
still awaiting the outcome
of the Council planning
department decision, but
we are all hopeful and have
everything possible crossed!”
The Future
Youth
“Youth football is vital for the
success of Clubs like ours. We have very
limited funds and rely upon producing
youngsters along the pathway from
U18s to our reserves and then into the
first team. Last season we had half a
in the Eastern Counties Youth League
(South Division). This gives the lads a
taste of senior football, playing in stadia
every week and against players who
represent their Clubs at senior level. We
hope as players excel at U18s they will
then move on to play Saturday football
in our reserves and ultimately into the
first team.”
We now have an established
pathway for players to progress through
the ranks at the Club. We have a
midweek under 18 team that competes
“Obviously, the proposed
move to the new ground
will occupy most of our
thoughts over the next five
years. We are really excited
by the possible move. Our
current ground, where
we’ve been for thirty years,
is not fit for purpose. It’s
built on a former landfill
site, so we have horrendous
problems with drainage and
subsidence.
The proposed move will be
onto former farmland and will
enable us to install a proper drainage
system, resulting in less games being
called off and a better playing surface.
The site will also have outside pitches,
enabling us to incorporate all the Youth
teams in one place.”
