FC Clacton is approaching its 125th anniversary and there is plenty for the club to look forward to . Football Focus Magazine recently caught up with their Secretary Danny Coyle to find out more about their set up .

FC Clacton is approaching its 125th anniversary and there is plenty for the club to look forward to . Football Focus Magazine recently caught up with their Secretary Danny Coyle to find out more about their set up .
Involvement
He told us , “ I ’ ve been involved in the Club for more than twenty years . I was manager of the Under 11s at the time and joined the Club because it has a senior section and I thought that would be better for the kids to have a transition into senior football at the same club .
Since then I ’ ve been Groundsman , Chairman of the Youth Section and I ’ m now Secretary of both the Adult and Youth Sections . I also sit on the Management Committee of the Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties Football League ( Our first team and midweek Under 18s play in this League ) and I ’ m a Council member of the Essex County Football Association .”
Atmosphere
“ The mood at the Club is extremely positive . Our first team finished in a relegation place and we were preparing for life at step 6 when a couple of weeks ago we got the news that we had been reprieved and would continue to play Step 5 football . This gave the whole Club a giant lift and things are looking really positive on the player front for next season .”
Present
“ As I stated above , the season for the first team didn ’ t go so well . We finished second bottom of our league but were reprieved by The FA and will continue to play at Step 5 this coming season . The Youth section continues to flourish . We started six years ago with no teams and now have 21 teams in the Colchester & District Youth League , four girls ’ teams and a ladies team . There are plans to add a disabled team for the coming season .
This season the Club reaches its 125th anniversary ( started life as Clacton Town FC ). We are planning various activities
