Barry Town United Ladies FOOTBALL CLUB

Having enjoyed a fantastic season last time around , Barry Town United Ladies FC is now working hard to ensure that they enjoy another successful campaign this time around . Football Focus Magazine recently caught up with Chairman Luke Williams to find out how they are getting along .
Atmosphere
He told us , “ There is a really good feel to the club at the moment having come off the back of an outstanding season . We are now into pre-season and looking forward to the challenge ahead as we look to continue our progress at both senior and junior level .”
2016 / 17
“ We had a fantastic 2016 / 17 season , our most successful to date . Our Ladies first team narrowly missed out on promotion to the Welsh Premier League , finishing second in the table which was above our initial expectations .
On the junior front , we had a superb season with our Under 16 girls claiming a treble ; winning the League , League Cup and South Wales FA Cup . Our
Under 14 ’ s went one better , winning a quadruple and our Under 12 girls finished runners-up in their league .
Not just on the pitch but off the field the club has a better structure , and our coach workforce has significantly improved with many coaches now up to Level 2 ( C Licence ) and Level 3 ( UEFA B Licence ) standard .”
New Season
“ We now hope to build on last season ’ s success at both junior and senior level . Our Ladies team will be hoping to put together another strong season with the aim of achieving promotion to the Welsh Premier League . A number of coaches have moved age groups that we feel aligns with the clubs objectives for the next few seasons .
At junior level it ’ s maintaining and further increasing the standards within the club as we develop through the various age bands . We have a lot of talented players within our junior setup and it is imperative the players are provided with a suitable challenge to maintain their progress .”
Potential
“ We have a large number of players that are involved in the national and regional setup for Wales as well as many representing their local county team . In particular , Grace Corne represented Wales U15 ’ s in April in the Bob Docherty Home Nationals Tournament in Ireland which Wales went onto to win for the first time . There are many talented players that we hope will progress into our senior setup in the coming years .”
We manufacture , supply and install Windows , Doors , Porches , Conservatories and Orangeries around Barry and Cardiff .
