FOOTBALL CLUB
Leverstock Green FC is a club that is working hard to progress and enjoyed
a positive campaign last time around. They finished in a solid mid-table
league position having put together a record of sixteen wins, ten draws and
sixteen defeats from their forty two league matches.
This saw them finish in a safe mid-
table position with fifty eight points on
the board. One of the highlights of the
team’s performances was the attacking
brand of football that they were able to
produce as they found the back of the net
eighty five times at a rate of more than
two per game.
This will certainly have meant that
any supporters attending their matches
will have been well entertained and
should encourage more of the local
72 Issue 73
community to get behind the side in the
future.
Football Focus Magazine was keen
to find out more about the good work
being done at the club and with this in
mind we recently caught up with their
Secretary Brian Barter. He told us, “I
have been involved with the club for
over 25 years. I was an Officer on a local
youth league and we used the club for
our meetings and the pitch for all the
leagues cup finals.”
“The role as Secretary seems to take
in a lot of work as everything is now
done on line from FA and County FA.
And to keep things all up to date is
challenging.
“The mood at the club is good as
we had a much better season than the
previous seasons where we seemed to
be looking over our shoulders near the
lower reaches of the league. Our plans
are to hopefully improve on last season
again this time around.
