Lyne Lyne FOOTBALL CLUB Lyne F.C was founded back in 2007, and I have been actively involved in the club from its fruition. Initially the club was created with four under 13’s sides in the debut season and I am pleased to say some of those original lads involved in 2007 are now playing in our very successful men’s team today. I think one of the most challenging parts of the club in the last ten years has been our search for a home that could accommodate our ever-growing membership. This search has taken us in all sorts of directions, meetings with farmers, meeting with borough councils and meeting with County Councils with none of them proving to be productive. That search finally came to an end in April 2016 when we struck a deal with Jubilee High School, in Addlestone Surrey. The fields needed a fair bit of work but now we have pitches which we are very proud of, which benefits the School as well as the Club. Along with our now fantastic pitches at Jubilee we also have a full floodlit training facility which all our age groups use throughout the winter months. T h e rewards of driving the club forwards are many as we endeavour to improve the football experience for our members every year but if I had to choose a favourite reward it’s got to be seeing the members growing up enjoying the game. The general mood in the Lyne F.C camp is very positive and exciting, now we have fantastic pitches to play on, food and www.footballfocusmag.com 41
