This remained until 1928 when the two villages split and the rivalry began. Loxwood stayed in the Rudgwick League and Alfold joined the recently formed Cranleigh & District League. Although not the most successful time for the club they did reach two consecutive cup finals in 1932 and 1933. Over the years Alfold have had five pitches scattered around the village but now are proud to have two of the best pitches throughout Surrey, Sussex & Hampshire. Recently the club achieved a grant through the Premier League & “The football facilities are second to none in the area with two excellent pitches that are kept in immaculate condition.” The FA Facilities Fund and with the support of The Alfold Sports & Social Club massive improvements have been made with brand new changing rooms. Alfold have always been a club that thrives on success, being proud winners of The Surrey County Cup, The West Sussex Premier League and The Chichester Charity Cup; all outstanding achievements for a village side. 2016 was a landmark in Alfold Football Club’s history with the first team playing in The Macron Store Southern Combination Football League Division 2 at Sussex County Level. The reserves play in the Brickability West Sussex League, Frazer Simpson Championship Division 1 (North). 34 Issue 73
