We believe that by having multiple sides , including a development squad , reserves and senior side , it shows a clear and distinct pathway for our younger players and provides us with stepping stones towards a bright future .
Up until recently Grimsby Borough FC have not had what could be called a home , however we have been working hard over the current season and as of June 2017 we have acquired a permanent home , complete with facilities to hold meetings for all clubs , larger changing rooms as well as bar and food facilities . More importantly though , a place we can call ours , a place we can call the home of Grimsby Borough Football Club .
On the playing side of things , the first team just avoided relegation from the league in the 2015-16 season which led to a change in management and playing personnel . This totally changed the fortunes of the team and the 2016-17 season saw the first team finishing fourth in the league and getting to the play off final , sadly the result was not so positive , however , the club have not sat back and dwelled on defeat .
Buoyed by their finish to the season they are setting out their store to hopefully go one better in the forthcoming season . Along with positive progress being made by the senior squad , several junior teams tasted success , and whilst some will admit they struggled , they are a work in progress and it is our aim as a club to support all of our teams and get them all moving in the right direction both on and off the pitch . A huge success this season is the progress and achievements made by our junior and senior ladies sides , cul-minating in the senior ladies squad winning their respective league title .
All team managers in the club have attended a Level One FA coaching course . This allows for a consistent approach
across all age groups to coaching and helps to promote the Grimsby Borough FC philosophy , and maintain a steady progress throughout the future both in men ’ s and ladies football . Everybody within the club is working very hard to make the club a success and ensuring that football is available for all within the community , for a very long time . The future plans for the club are that the first team progresses as far as possible , the ladies section grows and that all our junior teams continue their good work and continue to progress . We wish for the name of Grimsby
Borough to be associated with being a well-run , family club .
