FOOTBALL CLUB
The rise and rise of Grimsby Borough Football Club
Grimsby Borough FC is a charter standard community club that also has
registered charity status.
The club was formed in 2003 with
just the adult team; they established
themselves in the Northern Counties
East League Division One. Over the next
few years they flirted with relegation on
several occasions but always managed to
survive.
Then, in the 2014-15 season a change
occurred; a flourishing youth group
of teams were approached to join the
14 Issue 73
Grimsby Borough organisation. They
agreed with a few alterations being made
to personnel and the direction the club
wanted to go. This helped form the basis
of how the club is currently operating.
We have recently gone through
major changes in the background of the
club, namely an executive committee
being set up to oversee the complete
running of the club. This was essential
as the club has gone through changes in
the number of teams playing under the
Grimsby Borough umbrella.
The club boasts 32 teams ranging
from Under 7’s through to the senior
side still competing in the NCEL as well
as a thriving ladies setup starting at
Under 12’s through to a full adult side,
who have recently won their respective
league.
