They have said that stadiums in the lower two divisions of the Football League currently not required to be all- seater can install what are known as ‘rail seats’ to replace normal seats. This follows Celtic installing rail seats after campaigning by football fans in Glasgow to bring a form of terracing back to improve the atmosphere at games. Stadiums in Scotland are governed by different rules to those in England. Now Premier League clubs are being consulted on whether they would be willing to see a pilot project where rail seats are trialled at clubs in the top division. A day could be coming where terracing returns to Old Trafford, Anfield and The Emirates.
