It’s been a mixed season. We have not
performed so well in the league, although,
off the field we have been doing great;
with the club’s first annual gentleman’s
evening being a massive success.” other players. Our coaches keep a close
eye on them to get a feel if they are ready
for the challenge of first team football and
if they believe they are, they will get the
opportunity to step up.” With junior football starting next season
we are planning for a second pitch and a
car park.”
Youth Community “Youth football is very important to
our club. We have a number of young
players in the club at the moment and
they are all making their first steps into
senior football. The club aims to generate
local young talent through to seniors and
with this now the focus, we are starting
two new sides next season; U14’s and
U16’s.” “We are very much a community club.
We are always encouraging local youth
in the area to come join us in training
sessions and the majority of our sponsors
are local businesses in the area. Many of
the volunteers in the club are from the
surrounding area.” Integration “There
is
always
room
for
improvement in this area! Our home
ground has, over the years, been
developed with new changing facilities,
pitch crowd barriers and at the end of this
season we are installing new dugouts. “I think the biggest challenge for any
club around the area and at our the level is
funding and sponsorship. It’s hard to keep
a club running and we are always looking
at ways to raise funds for the club. We had
our first gentleman’s evening this year
with Neil Ruddock and that has helped to
fund the work going into our pitch and to
start a junior section next season.
Our ambition is for a Junior section
with long term stability and continuing
development of a young group of players.
We want to see our senior side to be
promoted to the South Wales Alliance
League.”
“Our young players start off with
our reserve team first before stepping
into first team football, whilst integrating
them into the club and getting to know the
