“ We ’ re now planning to carry on developing the football club , adding new sponsors to help with up and coming junior teams which we are hoping to run . We also want to have more work done on the pitch and maybe to have some training lights put up to save us paying out to train away from the ground . Most importantly is to push the club on on the playing side of things and gain promotion .”
Youth
“ Youth football is extremely important as this is the future of the club and the one major thing that attracted me to the club as some younger players don ’ t get the chance early enough in their careers and therefore fall out of love with the game and do not play anymore . We are currently just about to become affiliated with U8s and U12s junior sides for the upcoming season ( 2017- 2018 ) plus our U18s side which we hope will feed some players into and around the 1st team .”
Integration
“ We have a few experienced players at the club who have played at a good level and they have been great with the young players this season , plus like I ’ ve mentioned my junior team who I ’ ve coached / manged since they were 7 / 8 years old have been always able to talk and ask questions of the coaching staff and we will treat them the correct way in their development and transition forwards to the senior team .
My door is never shut and I ’ m always available for everyone . Also , with a good management team in place and with the committee people around we have , in my opinion , a good team to help them make this transition .”
Community
“ We are now starting up some junior teams as we are looking towards the community not only for boys but girls as well ; we will be holding a girl ’ s tournament in July and an adult one a week after ( all information is available on our Sidlesham FC website ). We are always welcoming new teams and players so hopefully we can develop even more .”
Challenges / Ambitions
“ The major thing for us will be the running costs of a grass roots football club . Everything costs money so generating finance to keep the club running properly and keeping all bills etc . paid

and still developing the club and moving forward is our main challenge .
We want to gain promotion to the highest league the club could possibly get to within the budget of the football club ; we are very conscious that we don ’ t go beyond our means financially .
It is also our aim to develop and produce players for the senior teams from our youth ranks and provide qualified coaching for all junior teams , promote our football club within the community and gain links with local schools , colleges and local clubs making people aware that we are trying to move the club in the right direction and provide a local base for people to come and play , watch and get involved with the running of the club . We are at the end of the day a grass roots football club that is run by volunteers and most importantly we all do it for the love of the beautiful game .”
