Facilities
“ We have received some excellent comments and positive feedback from numerous clubs who have visited us . This has been extremely pleasing to hear , especially as some of these clubs have been from higher up the football league pyramid . These include Cambridge United , Chelmsford City , Colchester United , Ebbsfleet United , Ipswich Town and Southend United .
We also receive the same comments from visiting teams in our own division , The Ryman Premier League . Visiting Match Officials , Football Association Representatives and County Football Association Members have also praised our facilities and hospitality commenting we would be a credit to leagues higher up the football league pyramid .”
Developments
“ We are always trying to improve the club ’ s facilities and recently extended our club house by increasing the size of our ground floor function room as well as upgrading our excellent kitchen facility
to produce hot food and refreshments for supporters and players as well as providing hospitality to visiting team directors .
As well as continually investing in maintaining the drainage and playing surface of our first team pitch we have also had three new stands installed in the last four years , have installed new floodlights on our second pitch to improve the training facility area and have just completed the rebuild of our academy classrooms . All these projects were completed thanks to the hard work put in by numerous volunteers and the support of several local companies . The long term plan is to raise the funds for an all-weather 3G Artificial Pitch which can be used by our club and more importantly the local community all year round .”
Challenges
“ We want to continue to be a successful club both on and off the field with a very strong backbone of a committee behind the scenes working extremely hard to keep the club moving forward . We have set high standards for the club and want to continue to do so in years to come . We believe we have the facilities to compete at the higher level and will always strive to continue to improve wherever possible .
Obviously this is only possible through various means of club sponsorship , the involvement of local companies and organisations and individual contributions to continue to keep the club competitive at the highest possible level . We are very fortunate to have some excellent backing and every year this support is extremely appreciated .”
Ambitions
“ We want to continue to improve and aim to get the club at the highest possible level . We have ambitious plans to develop our Academy further by attracting students from further a field and to start a girl ’ s academy . We need our Academy to continue to develop the younger players to progress them through the reserve side and on to the first team . The long term goal for the first team is to achieve Step 2 football .”
