YOUR SIGHT CARE IS OUR PRIORITY come through the Clubs Academy, came very close to being offered a professional contract at Ipswich Town.” Community “We are very proud of the fact that we are very much a Community Club being very fortunate in that we own our own ground and facilities with the assets being held by three trustees on behalf on the community. We have links with several clubs in and around the area, regularly hiring out our two pitches for teams to use. We also have links with our Youth Team organisation known as Needham Market Phoenix Youth. They have eight teams ranging from Under 8’s to Under 15’s boys sides. We allow them to use our training areas during midweek’s and they have also been allowed to use our second pitch to play matches.” FA Charter Standard “We are also an FA Charter Standard Club. We hire out our Clubhouse Facility for various private functions as well as company organisations using the facility. These include the Suffolk Football Association, St. Elizabeth Hospice, Ramblers Association to name a few. We also allow the use of our facility free of charge each year for the charity ‘The Mid Suffolk Link of the Chernobyl Children’s Life Line’. They use our facility as a base camp meeting point before they go off on trips out. We throw a big party for the children on their arrival and allow them to choose numerous items of clothing and footwear which we have collected throughout the year, as invariably the children only come to the country in the clothes they are wearing. Every year we hold a Club Golf Day and donate part of the net proceeds to a local Charity. In the last seven years our chosen charities have benefited to the sum in excess of £12,500.” www.footballfocusmag.com 85
