Airbus UK Broughton FOLLOW US ONLINE TWITTER.COM/FOOTYFOCUSMAG campaign. They are led by the team of President Paul McKinlay and Chairman Michael Mayfield and will be looking to progress under their guidance. It would be fair to say that the club endured a disappointing season this time around as their first team were relegated into the Cymru Alliance. They finished with a league record of five wins, six draws and twenty one defeats from their thirty two matches leaving them bottom of the league with twenty one points. The club will now now be looking to pick themselves up as quickly as possible and will be working hard to make sure they are able to do just that. As long as they have a positive off-season and are able to add to the talent of the squad they should be well positioned to do so. Airbus UK Broughton is clearly determined to turn things around and this was highlighted by Chairman Mick Mayfield when he spoke to the club’s official website www.airbusfc.com about their future in the Cymru Alliance, stating that, “We are under no illusions of how difficult that challenge will be. There are some very strong sides in the league, and if we are to make a serious challenge this coming season, we cannot afford to be complacent and will have to improve significantly on last season’s performance.” “We will miss the challenge of the Welsh Premier, but will be doing our utmost to get back as soon as possible. “I would like to take this opportunity to thank our loyal sponsors and supporters for sticking with us for what was a really hard season, that we never saw coming, and look forward to working with and cheering with you all again in the future.” One of the highlights of the Airbus UK Broughton set up is the superb academy set up that they have in place. This part of the club looks to provide young players from the local area with an opportunity to play the game in a safe and enjoyable environment whilst helping them to reach their full potential. It is important for any club looking to be successful over a sustained period of 76 Issue 71 time to be able to produce their own talent and this is an area they appear to have covered. It will certainly be exciting to see how their youngsters are able to progress in the coming years as they look to make the step up to senior football. Obviously it is a difficult time for the club having suffered relegation but they are wasting no time in trying to address the difficulties that they have faced recently and this will give them the best possible chance of bouncing back quickly. A difficult campaign should not take away from the good work being carried out at the club and with a strong academy in place they should be able to look forwards to a successful long term future.
