FOOTBALL CLUB
Chichester Ladies FC has been enjoying a terrific campaign this time
around and currently find themselves in with a great chance of winning
their league. Football Focus Magazine recently caught up with their
Secretary Caroline Henry-Evans to find out more about the good work
they’ve been doing lately.
Involvement
She told us, “I have been involved
with the club for nine years, first season I
was the First Team goal keeper then from
the second season became secretary and
reserves manager. I stopped coaching last
season and focussed on the secretarial
role and behinds the scenes website and
social media etc. to take the club to the
next level. I was first attracted to the club
34 Issue 71
because of the football coach at the time
Matt Wright (now chairman) as he is
fantastic at coaching and I knew I would
improve as a player.”
The Role
“There is so much paperwork! It never
feels like you get a break as when the
season ends and the players relax we are
already preparing for the next season with
meetings and plans. The most rewarding
aspect is watching the players play the
game they love; it means everything to
all the volunteers at the club that we
provide a high standard of coaching and
that ladies can play at the highest level we
can achieve. Being part of the celebrations
on match days when they score goals and
win games is unbelievable.”
