On the pitch the club has progressed
greatly in the last few years. There has
been a constant development and we have
just secured our highest league finish in
sixteen years. We are hoping to add a 3rd
trophy in the last four years to really cap
it off. This is a great period for the club
as we have brought consistent success but
we have to maintain this over the next few
years whilst the club builds.
Once the season has finished we will
look to strengthen over the summer with
the aim of winning the league next season.
With the exception of one season, over the
past eight years, we have finished in the
Michael Davies recently took the time to tell us about his positive
association with the club. He told us, “I was a player in the late
1970s and now my son Chris Davies is the first team manager. The
team has done well this season to finish in 2nd place in the league.”
“I am particularly pleased to be associated with Carno because the
present crop of players is a dedicated group, who train together,
play together and socialise together, and do not receive a penny for
playing, despite what other clubs might think.
“They, in fact, meet their own travelling expenses and some have
turned down offers from other clubs, who have been willing to pay
for their services. Good luck to everyone associated with the club
for future.”
top four in the league and this season we
made the push for the title but just fell
short. With only one promotion place up
for grabs we know in order to take the
club to the next level we need to win the
league.
We believe the biggest challenge to
face the club over the next few years
is being able to keep the team together
and being able to offer the players the
chance to play at the highest level. We
have consistently been a top team in our
division now and we have seen teams be
promoted whilst we’ve just missed out.
Some of the players have had offers
from clubs in the league above and have
decided to stay to try and help the club
progress. If we fall short again we fear
some may have to leave to play at that
higher level. Next season will be crucial
for us.
We feel as a club we are taking the
right steps both on and off the pitch.
Progression in both areas must be
consistent and we hope that over the
summer our plans will formulate and we
can gear towards a big 2017/18 campaign.
