“Lots of great
improvements have
taken place at the
ground but we still
have bits to do. The
club after the heyday
of the 80’s had very
little investment.”
Community
“Without a doubt we are a community
club; as a Community we are expanding
and so it’s crucial we get the word out
there about us and what we do for
anybody new to the area. We are looking
to get everyone involved; we arrange five
to eight year old sessions on a Sunday
to encourage boys and girls to come
training to enjoy just playing. We
want to be more approachable and
we want people to feel that this is
their club.”

when you need it the most
for senior level. We have a reserve team
for those that are ready where we can
monitor them and get them ready for first
team football.”
players don’t seem to have the same
dedication of the generations of old. Our
other challenge is promotion; we feel we
are ready as a club to step up and that
would open a whole new page for us.”
Ambitions
“Youth football is vital, it’s
the future, the lifeblood, we have
fought tooth and nail to get new
coaches qualified and to get new
teams at the club. For whatever
reason we weren’t getting the teams
involved in the last five years or so but
we have addressed this and now have six
Junior sides as well as an Under 21’s.
Last season we had an Under 19’s and
now we have an Under 21’s, next season
we will potentially have an Under 18’s. Challenges/Ambitions
It’s a vital bridge between the two, not
all players develop at the same pace so
some need to remain playing with their
same age group whereas others are ready “Our biggest challenge is players,
definitely players, keeping good young
players interested, there are so many
distractions out there and the younger
“Lots of great improvements have
taken place at the ground but we still
have bits to do. The club after the
heyday of the 80’s had very little
investment. We have changed that
and through hard work, fundraising
and applying for funding etc. we
have achieved what we wanted to
do five years ago.
Over the next five years the
ambition is to maintain what we
have and to grow more teams if
possible. We have the facilities to go
places but we need to get more people
interested in the club. We are running at
maximum so need the volunteers to grow
with us. Promotion has been an ambition
of the club for some time now; we have
a step 6 ground so we need to build the
player base to get us there, the challenge
is then to stay there.”
