We recently caught up with their Chairman Cliff Thomas to find out more about the club. He told us, “I have been involved from the first thoughts to concept of the Club. Bolsover was a large town with a castle steeped in the past Coal Industry, with no semi-professional football team. Having coached and set up FC Brimington, a Sunday side since 2007, gaining notoriety on ITV news.” The chance for FC Bolsover to be established came when Glapwell FC Folded and the Team and management was in limbo. It was at this moment FC Bolsover was decided to commence and take on the former league winning side and management team to form FC Bolsover in June 2016. Cliff explained more about the new set up and how they are getting along, saying, “The most challenging aspects have been finding a permanent base in Bolsover as well as issues with the FA and League regarding Contract Players and Non fulfilment of Fixtures by other clubs.” “The most rewarding things have been building a club for the community and building a football family in Bolsover. The mood here now is excellent; determined, happy and together. The season has gone extremely well having reached the semi- final of the Cup and being second in the 66 Issue 70
