Football Focus Magazine recently caught up with their Match Secretary Spencer Mitchell to find out more about the club. He told us, “The season started very well despite an early set back in the FA Cup and a great run saw the Club up to third in the League. We have been in the top half of the league all season and reached the League Cup quarter Final. We are now aiming to finish as high as possible in the League. “Youth football is very important to the Club. We run teams from age 6 to under 18’s and also run the Horley Town Chairman: Vice Chairman: Treasurer: Match Secretary: Junior Section Chairman: Mr Mark Sale Mrs Philippa Burbidge Mrs Nicky Maybury Mr Spencer Mitchell Mr Dave Coogan Manager: Anthony Jupp Coach: Matt Chapman Physio: Gail Selby Assistant Manager: Chris Weller GK Coach: Alan Rogers Team from George Hyde GK Scott Robson Ryan Brackpool Adam Pullin (Captain) Liam Cox Jack Poplett Ben Herdman Alex Barbary Conra Ceepedes Robert Burbidge Kyle Hough Tate Greenaway Richard Wetton Ayden Richards Mark Bevan Matt Fairthbrother Ryan Smith 54 Issue 70 Academy for young players between 16-18. In order to help make sure our players enjoy a smooth transition into the senior game we run Under 16s to feed into the Youth set up who play in the Southern Youth League and the FA Youth Cup and then into the Reserves who play in the Suburban League and then into the 1st Team. “We are very much a Community Club, regularly running junior Football Competitions and also a very successful vets side. The Club also have Horley Rugby Club use the adjacent pitch as their home as well and has its own Darts team as well. The Club house and Facilities are available for all the community to use; even the local play group uses the Club house so it is very much part of the community. “The club are hopefully about to install a new 3G pitch in the close season so very exciting times are ahead for the Club. Our biggest challenges moving forward will be Continuing to improve the Club Facilities and the First team with the aim of making it into the Ryman League.”
