One of the highlights of the team’s performances this time
around has been the attacking brand of football that they have
been able to produce. This has been reflected by the fact that they
have found the back of the net 61 times in the league alone at a rate
of more than two per game.
This will certainly have meant that any supporters attending
their matches will have been well entertained and should
encourage more of the local community to get behind the side
in future. This in turn has the potential to provide the club with
a valuable source of additional revenue which is particularly
important in the current financial climate.
It has certainly been a positive campaign for the club
and probably fits in with what Chairman Mark Broughton
told the club’s official website www.pitchero.com/clubs/
midhurstandeasebournefc at the start of the campaign when he
said, “Me and the guys are looking forward to playing our part in
rebuilding the ‘club’ feel at Midhurst.”
“For a while now there seems to have been a disconnect
between the various teams from the First Team, right through to
the youth section. Our aim is to play a part in getting a reserve
side with promising youngsters fit, confident and ready to support
the first team as and when they are needed. It’s important to get
players to WANT to play football on a Saturday afternoon and
maybe have a beer afterwards. To make it fun. But football is a lot
more fun when you win.”
There is clearly much to admire about the fine set up that
Midhurst and Easebourne FC currently has in place and this is
thanks to all of the hard work that is put into the club. If they
continue in the same manner then they should be able to look
forward to a bright and successful future for many years to come.
