racknell Town FC was first established in 1896 and their first team currently competes in the Hellenic League Premier Division . They are led by the team of President Steve McClurg and Chairman Kayne Steinborn-Busse and are progressing well under their guidance . They are affectionately known by their supporters as ‘ The Robins ’.
It is an exciting time to be involved with the club at present following a major upgrade of their facilities which has seen a 3g pitch installed as well as a new clubhouse and changing facilities . They have also rebranded the clubs logo .
The 3g pitch is now fully approved with all of their sides having had the opportunity to benefit from the facility . The club house development is on-going with the work moving into Phase 2 and it is sure to be a major benefit once complete .
So far this season their first team has been in superb form having finished in 14th place last season . They currently sit top of the table having put together a record of twenty wins , three draws and three defeats from their twenty-six matches to accumulate a total of 63 points . They will now be looking to maintain this form over the remaining weeks of the season . If they are able to do this they will be in with a fantastic chance of finishing as champions which would be a just reward for all of the hard work that has gone into making the club a success .
One of the highlights of the team ’ s performances this time around has been the attacking brand of football that they have been able to produce . This has been reflected by the fact that they have found the back of the net 88 times in the league alone at a rate of more than three per game .
This will certainly have meant that any supporters attending their matches will have been well entertained and should encourage more of the local community to get behind the side in the future . This in turn has the potential to provide them with a valuable source of additional revenue .
Bracknell Town is not a club to focus solely upon their senior section however and this is reflected by the fact that they also have a number of youth sides in place . These teams look to provide young players from the local area with an opportunity to play the game in a safe and enjoyable environment whilst helping them to reach their full potential .
It is important for any club looking to be successful over a sustained period to be able to produce their own talent and this is an area they appear to have covered . It will certainly be exciting to see how their juniors can progress over the coming years .
