FOOTBALL CLUB

ortsmouth FC is a club committed to playing an important role in the community by developing a professional football establishment owned by its supporters . We recently caught up with Club Representative Colin Farmery to find out more about the set up they have in place .
Atmosphere
He told us , “ The mood here is pretty good to be honest . The team is nicely placed just a couple of points away from the automatic promotion places , we have 11 of our last 20 games at home and we are currently averaging around 16500 , which is pretty good going by League 2 standards , not to mention most of League 1 and half the Championship standards as well . Obviously you always demand more , but we can face the coming months with optimism I feel .” This Season
“ We have been solid rather than spectacular , two or three performances aside , but that suggests there is still more to come from Paul Cook ’ s team . We made a slow start , picking up just two points from the first nine , but since then we have been pretty much bang on the ‘ two points a game ’ return which invariably gets you up .
One of our key strengths is we usually bounce back from a disappointing result . We have only lost consecutive matches once this season and , every time we ’ ve lost bar once , we ’ ve come back to win . We went out of the cups early , but they are not the priority this season .”
Targets
“ We want to win promotion . Obviously that ’ s easy to say and trickier to achieve , but the squad and management team is full of confidence and believe in their ability to achieve that goal . Our home form at Fratton Park has been good rather than great so far this season . If we can have a great run of home form in the next four months we should be there or thereabouts .”
