ased at West Clewes on North Road in Midsomer Norton , Welton Rovers
FC currently competes in Division 1 of the Toolstation Western League Division 1 . The club was first established in 1887 and was one of the founding members of the Western Football League .
Welton offered a chance for people from the Midsomer Norton and Radstock areas to enjoy the game . Many of them worked as coal miners in the local Somerset coalfield and welcomed the chance to play or support their local team playing at West Clewes in Welton .
Over the years the club has gone on to put together a history of which they have every right to be proud , having achieved success at both local and regional level . They have been crowned Western League Champions on five occasions and also have a special affinity with the Somerset Senior Cup which they have won ten times . The current group of players will be looking to add to these successes over the coming years .
Lee Phillips of Bike-IT played for Welton Rovers for a number of years , representing the club from sixteen through to his mid-thirties . He was a right footed centre-back or left back and wishes everyone associated with the club the best of luck for the future .
At the start of the season , long standing club official Ryan Grubb took over the role as Chairman of the club . Grubb was presented at the End of Season Awards and also holds positions with the Somerset FA , as well as being an experienced referee .
