I t ’ s proving to be a season to remember for Sutton United and following their
1-0 triumph over Leeds they are now set to take on Arsenal in the 5th round of the FA Cup . We recently caught up with Company Chairman Dave Farebrother to find out more about the success they are enjoying .
Atmosphere
He told us , “ The atmosphere here is understandably buoyant , from the Chairman to the newest supporter . We had an amazing 2016 anyway , we didn ’ t think things could get any better , but to defeat three League teams and reach the 5th Round of the FA Cup is simply fantastic .
Supporters who had maybe lost touch are returning and they are liking what they find and coming back for more . Then there are the new supporters , especially youngsters but their mums and dads as well , who are hopefully going to become the regular supporters of the future .”
This Season
“ We ended last season with a 26-match unbeaten run to win the National League South but the National Division was a bit of an unknown challenge for us . We are one of the few part-time teams in the division and it can be a challenge playing away to some of the bigger ex-Football League clubs but overall we are happy
