FOOTBALL CLUB

oyal Wotton Bassett Town FC was originally formed in November 1882 , making it one of the oldest clubs in Wiltshire . It then folded in 1908 due to financial pressures , but re-formed in May 1930 as a result of the opening of the Gerard Buxton Sports Ground on a piece of land bequeathed for the purpose of sport .
Major Buxton ’ s legacy continues to live on , as in August 2015 the football club – along with the other members of the Royal Wootton Bassett Sports Association - moved into a state-of-the-art £ 6 million facility on the edge of town , which continues to bear his name . Football Focus Magazine recently caught up with
Chairman Andy Walduck to find out how the club has been getting along lately .
FF : How would you say the season has gone for the club so far ?
AW : The season got off to a difficult start , with first team manager Paul
Braithwaite resigning after just three games . However , new manager Rich Hunter , who took over the reins having previously been first team coach , has done a very solid job in steadying the ship .
The first team , who play in the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division , are fighting for their first ever top half finish
