FOOTBALL CLUB

arnham Town FC was first established in 1906 and is based on Mead Lane in Surrey . Their first team currently competes in the Combined Counties League Premier Division and they have put together a steady league campaign so far , having compiled a record of nine wins , five draws and fifteen defeats from their twenty nine matches . This has left them sitting in a safe position with thirty two points on the board .
They will now be looking to put together a good run of results in their remaining fixtures in order to finish as high up the table as possible . As long as they are able to retain their current group of players they should be in with a good chance of doing just that .
Football Focus Magazine recently caught up with their Chairman Ray Bridger to find out more about the good work that the club has been doing lately .
He told us , “ We are a club that believe in giving youth a chance . Our first team contains four under 18s , mixed in with players of varying ages and experience . We have a hard working committee and a first team manager who helps the club way beyond the call of duty . Ex-player Paul Tanner has helped the club develop ; over his time at the club , he brought in the youth section of the club which is now booming .”
“ The club , in conjunction with the local council has , since the start of this season , developed new dressing rooms and an extended car park at the memorial ground . Last season was the best for the team in quite a while , winning the Combined Counties Premier League
Cup and also finishing as runners up in the Aldershot Senior Cup .
“ This season the team has had mixed fortunes as injuries and losing our top strikers to local rivals Guildford and Camberley have not helped . The manager has had to do a rebuilding job , and is now getting the results his hard work deserves .
“ The next on the the list of jobs to do is to sort the ground drainage out . Over the years lack of funds has not let us do what we really needed to do . Now we have our new dressing rooms , we are looking at putting out feelers for a training ground . Any help in that direction would be greatly appreciated . There are lots of sponsorship opportunities including boards , stand and programme advertising . Any help is always all welcomed .”
